What is this?
Are you curious and confused (and slightly frustrated) about what’s going on in town? So were we.
That’s why we started Civics Corner—to help make local government more accessible. We began attending as many town meetings as we could and breaking down what we learned.

If you’re trying to stay informed without digging through Willinet archives or sitting through every meeting (though we do encourage you to come to Town Meeting!), we’ve got you covered.

Check back here for clear, simple summaries of what’s happening in town.
And who are you?
We're Kimma and Ky we both moved in here in 2020 and since then we've been trying to grow our community and figure out everything going on in this town we love. Now that we have a slightly better handle on it (thanks to the amazing community members who welcomed us in and showed us the ropes) we are launching this site in the hopes of creating a bigger tent and welcoming more people in to help our community grow, thrive, and support one another.
About Ky
I’ve called Williamstown home since 2020, though I grew up in the Hoosier state. I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Ball State (go David Letterman!) and an M.Ed. from Harvard. Over the years, I’ve lived in Denmark, Malaysia, Baltimore, Utah, and Boston—but Williamstown is the home of my heart.
I’ve always wanted to be more politically engaged locally, but didn’t know where to start—until Kimma invited me to attend a town meeting with her. That small step helped me feel more connected and empowered to be part of the community conversation.
Most days, you’ll find me tending to my rose garden in South Williamstown or enjoying a cup of coffee at The Store at Five Corners. I’m passionate about community connection, local government, and baking vegan treats to share.
About Kimma
I grew up in a leafy New Jersey suburb just across the Hudson—close enough to feel the pulse of Manhattan but far enough that I always felt like I was missing out on something special.
After college in upstate NY I moved back and spent a decade working in and around New York City sharpening my project-management chops across publishing, pharma marketing, financial services, and media advertising. In 2008 I got so burnt out I gave it all up and came to North Adams to do Yoga teacher training at the Beaver Mill.
I spent 14 years teaching yoga and traveling the world. I was lucky enough to live in Thailand and then in Portugal teaching in English to amazing international students who I am still close with. In 2020 I moved to Williamstown for love and eventually rolled up my yoga mat and started working for non-profits in the area.
Today I consult independently, serve on boards, and work in the garden.  I’m still politically engaged, the same kid who believes good process can move mountains (or at least select boards). When I’m not shepherding projects to the finish line, you’ll find me at a local cafe chasing the perfect dirty chai latte—because great ideas deserve great coffee.
